Asian Matchmaking moves to the Digital Age

It is clear there has been a shift away from the traditional form of arranged marriage, involving a matchmaker and formal introductions where the couple meet only after they have been chosen for each other. But there is still a particular approach to marriage in Asian culture worldwide. Marriage is important to young Asians: even in the UK they and their family usually hope they will be married or at least engaged by the age of 30, even though the rest of the population is marrying later and later ?or not at all.

While the new generation of Asians has adapted to the lifestyle of their country, they also maintain Asian cultures and traditions, as shown by the approach to their search for a life partner. The majority will still want to settle with an Asian Marriage Partner if possible.

Although few marriages in the Asian community are arranged in the traditional meaning of the word, the extended family remains involved in the search for a life partner ?even if they have to resist the urge to take over as matchmaker! The difference now is that young people are given the choice to find love, and meet and get to know each other before making formal family introductions. At this stage the family will consider the suitability of the match before any engagement or wedding is announced.

We now have a second and third generation of Asians who have a balance of cultural understanding that covers both East and West with equal ease. Many communities, for example Telugu and Kerala, have migrated widely but would still prefer a spouse from a similar background. They expect more freedom in their marriage choice, while still respecting the wishes of their elders and family traditions.

However, there is a growing contradiction to this tradition. There are a growing number unmarried after the age of 30, showing how the change in marriage trends has affected Asians. Most of these people are now in good positions and stable employment looking for partners, yet often it is difficult to meet a suitable partner.

There a clear reasons for this: young Asians are more likely to go to university, graduate at 22, find a job and enjoy it. Time passes quickly after the first few years of establishing a career and suddenly you are 30 and still single. Clearly someone who is used to this independence is not about to ask the local Matchmaker to take over the search. Instead they are taking the initiative to find a suitable match themselves, often using the power of the Internet.

Through responsible online matrimonial agencies they find confidential and respectable introductions to like-minded prospective partners of an appropriate religious and ethnic background. Online dating and marriage agencies are no longer the last resort ?many attractive and articulate couples meet this way, knowing that the fragmented offline social scene would not otherwise bring them together.

The reputable online marriage and dating agencies offer full confidentiality with the opportunity to select or reject potential partners?profiles and correspond by email to find out more about each other. They can then choose whether to meet, and what form that meeting should take.

An established agency (usually with a paid subscription) will normally ask clients to state their intentions - marriage or dating ?so the young person can meet someone who is serious. This online matchmaker trend is fuelling a fundamental change in Asian marriage traditions.

Tips To Attract The Relationships You Want

There has been a time in my life when relationships were a source of great discontentment in my life. I worked around negative people. I didn't have a lot of the kinds of friends I wanted. I was in a marriage that was lonely and filled with conflict. Although today all my relationships are not perfect, I feel blessed with the quality of people in my life. Much has changed and I've learned a lot about how to attract the relationships I want in life.
When you think about relationships, our lives are filled with so many. You may have a spouse whom you share your life with. You probably have children who you interact with on a regular basis. No doubt you have a few friends or maybe many friends. You might be a daughter to a mom and dad, a niece to an aunt or uncle, or a sister to one or more siblings. It's possible that you work or volunteer with people everyday. Are your relationships everything you want them to be? Do they nurture you and fill you up or do they drain your energy, leaving you feeling depleted? If you're like most people, you probably have relationships that do a little of both.
Relationships are essential to our survival and well being. God did not create us to go through life alone. Our relationships teach us more about who we are and who we are not. They highlight what we want in life and what we don't want. Relationships challenge us to grow in ways we might not grow on our own. When you think about your own relationships, I want to encourage you to look at ways you might attract more of what you want from your relationships.

Know What You Want
Do you know exactly what you want in a relationship? Is it the same for every kind of relationship you have? Make a list of the criteria you have for a positive or healthy relationship. Your list might look something like this:
" The parties must treat each other with respect
" There needs to be an acceptance and appreciation of each other's differences
" Each person should know how to resolve issues without fighting or arguing
" The relationships should provide an emotional connection
" We should work together in a way that is fair for all parties involved
" We should support and encourage one another
" There needs to be openness and honesty with thoughts and feelings
" We need to be able to laugh and have fun together
Now you can look at each of your relationships and decide if it meets your requirements. If not, you have a starting point for creating what you want. All of us, at any time, have five choices regarding our relationships. We can accept the relationship the way it is and be happy. We can remain a victim to the relationship. We can change the relationship. We can change our perspective of the relationship. We can leave the relationship.
Change Your Beliefs about What You Deserve
If you want the best relationships have to offer, you have to believe you deserve the best. Otherwise, you will settle for less than the best. At your core, what do you believe about relationships and people? Some limiting beliefs might be:
"All marriage partners fight." Most people in corporate America are negative.
" You have to be careful about who you trust.
" Most people are in a relationship for themselves.
" There are no good guys or good gals left - they're all married.
Whatever you believe, you will attract. So start believing what you want is truly possible.
Be Who Your Ideal Is
In my workshops, I tell women that if they want to attract inspiring friends, they must be an inspiring friend. We are energetic human beings, and like energy attracts like energy. The other day a woman shared a story about lunchtime at her place of business. All the co-workers would sit around in the lunchroom eating their lunches. One person would start to complain about the company or her job, and then the next person would chime in. Before you know it, a gripe session had begun. This woman told me that she found herself not being who she wanted to be, and instead joining the negativity with the rest of the crowd. Go back to your criteria for a positive and healthy relationship, and be all of those characteristics in your relationships. You will be a leader and force of change in your own life.

Online Dating: Free 6 Tips for Picking an Attractive Nickname

A nickname is an alias you use on dating websites to identify yourself to other members. All other members in the chat room and exchanging email with you will know you by that nickname, at least at first. Your nickname represents you throughout the website.
For this reason, you should spend some time choosing a good one. Here are six tips for men who want to choose a nickname that is attractive in women's eyes.
1. Do not choose something about sex. You will not attract women by picking a nickname about sex. You will basically just be wasting your time. Things like "Bob_69U" are a no-no.
2. Do not choose something violent. Do not choose anything that hints at any kind of hatred or violence. There is no room on dating websites for that sort of thing anyway, and women are not looking for people who talk about violence or hatred.
3. Do not choose something negative. Negativity is not attractive to women, or to anyone for that matter. Women just don't respond well to negativity, and if she's a woman who does, then you might not want to be in a relationship with her anyway.
4. Do choose something that describes you. Take some time to think about who you are. Ask your friends what they like about you. Look at yourself through someone else's eyes. Use that information to pick a nickname.
For example, if you are an airplane pilot, you could choose "AutoPilot." If you like to run marathons, you could choose "ActiveRunner."
5. Do choose something that you are looking for. If you are looking to raise a family, you could choose something like "FamilyGuy." Think about what you want in life and what kind of women you like. What qualities and values are you looking for? Write them down on a piece of paper, then use them to inspire your nickname.
6. Do be creative. Spend some time finding a nickname that is unique. If your nickname is already taken and you need to put a number at the end to be able to use it, then it is probably not original enough.
"BlueEyes," "BrownHair," or "TallMan" are all descriptive but not unique, they will not help you to stand out. If you want to highlight your height, for example, you could choose "ColossalAtHeart." If environmental issues are important to you, you could pick "BlueEarth."
What's important about choosing your nickname is to find a benign term that has something to do with you. Spend some time brainstorming. Write on a piece of paper all ideas that come to mind, whether they are good, bad, stupid, funny, or dull, until you find one that really makes you think, "OK, that's the one."
Having a good nickname on a dating website might not sound like the most important thing, but it does represent you right from the start. If you are serious about finding a good woman for a long-term relationship or even for a casual date, you should spend the time required to make it happen. You have to choose a nickname anyway, so you might as well do it right.
I remember having a woman tell me that the reason she emailed a man was because of his nickname. That's how they started their online relationship, by becoming friends after a conversation about the name he chose.

Transforming Our Relationships By Loving Ourselves

How can we transform our relationships--making them closer, more intimate, more creative, more satisfying?
I've seen that happen in my own life. And the change came, not from working on the relationships, but from loving myself.
What's made the difference: love for myself, comfort with who I am, the feeling of being on my own path, and knowing what I feel and what I want.
When I love myself, I still enjoy and want love from the other person, but I don't feel desperate for it, like I'd disappear if I didn't get it. I don't feel like I'd do anything, even try to be someone I'm not, just to be loved.

When I feel comfort with who I am, I can feel right away if I'm still comfortable when I'm with this other person. I can judge a potential partner not by looks or achievements, but by whether I feel even more myself when I am with him.
When I have the feeling of being on my own path, satisfied with and excited by what I am doing in my life, I'm not going to be jealous of my partner's accomplishments or needing him to be smaller so I don't get too anxious. Nor will I need him to accomplish more so I can ride along on the accomplishment wagon.
When I know what I feel and what I want, then I can communicate my desires -- and be open to hearing what my partner wants as well. When I know what I want and I trust that, I don't end up resenting the other person because I haven't said what I needed and they didn't read my mind.
Perhaps the biggest gift I've received in the relationship area was the certainty that grew in me after many years of inner work, that the other person's feelings belong to them.
Growing up in an alcoholic/codependent family, I soaked up the idea that when Dad was depressed, it was the job of all the rest of us to handle his feelings for him. My mother didn't show her feelings at all, so I had her feelings for her too.
When I started getting into relationships, it was nearly automatic to believe my partner's fears and angers were my fault and my responsibility. In the resulting tangle, no wonder it was hard to feel myself.
I even thought that's what "love" meant!
Many years of inner work using a process called Focusing have shifted all this for me. I can sit with my partner when he's upset, but it doesn't become my upset. It belongs to him. When my nephew is in tears over his own relationship woes, I am there... but I don't offer advice unless he asks, because that's his feeling, not mine.
The space I have for connecting with others is much bigger now, because I am myself, not all the people around me. It feels great!

Free Tips on Setting Goals To Find A Romantic Relationship

As you spend another Saturday night glued to the television, don’t expect Mr. or Mrs. Right to walk through the screen. Without setting goals to locate the love of your life, you'll continue to remain lonely until you put your best foot forward by outlining a plan for success. One of the best ways to open new doors for relationships is to seek out situations that add a little spice in your life.
It is highly suggested that you work on personal development and exercise better social skills that allows you to meet a fresh crop of good friends who may later turn into great companions and lovers. Below you will find a few suggestions on how to set goals for romantic relationship searching:

1) Look Around You
One of the most common ways that people forge new friendships is by tapping into their own cluster of close friends and family members, as their immediate social connections can provide a gateway to a whole new dating pool. You never know when you will find the next love of your life by asking your best friends, siblings, co-workers, and neighbors if they know of any single, available friends. You'd be surprised how many people have found husbands and wives in a blind date.
2) Join a Social Group
Make it a point to seek out a social group or "club" that shares the same interests as you. The advantage of joining this sort of "community" is that whoever is a part of the group already shares something in common with you, which makes for great conversation. This is one of the easiest ways to never run out of things to say because you will always have a platform of discussion to rely on.
Many people develop love interests within these types of groups, which often meet on a regular basis. Today, a wide-range of social groups exist, including interests regarding sports, theater shows, politics, scrap booking, photography, and gardening. In many cities, bereavement meetings have served as an effective way for widowers and widows to find a new lease on life.
3) Get Active for a Cause
The passion and intensity in fighting for a cause or volunteering your time with a charity is a good quality to find in a companion. Usually, those who are active in such activities are kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and motivated. When you share this same drive – sky is the limit for you and a new romantic interest. Whether you wish to save the rainforests, cure cancer, fight pollution, or eradicate illiteracy, this same determination can be used to forge a long-lasting bond with another. There are plenty of ways to fulfill this goal, as many clubs, not-for-profit groups, organizations, charities, and churches are situated in every hometown.
4) Be Patient
New relationships, especially the kind that end in romance take time to cultivate and although the process seems to take longer than you would like – you must stay realistic in your goals for finding love. It's not uncommon to experience a long stretch of time before meeting up with a worthy candidate. Also, once you find a satisfying friendship, it is important not to rush into or force a romantic relationship.

Free Tips on How to Get Your Lover Back Without Losing Yourself

Getting in and out of relationships is common for many people today. However, many a times you might find yourself stuck in a dilemma. After having lost someone you loved, you suddenly come to realize that he or she plays such a great role in your life that you want him or her back. In other words, you regret ever having broken up the relationship. So, now you need to know how to get your lover back without losing yourself. This is because many people fall into the trap of seeming too desperate or weak, such that it simply turns their ex away, diminishing all the chances of getting anywhere near being a couple again.
There are many things you need to avoid and do before you re-establish contact with your partner.
Firstly, ensure that a reasonable amount of time has passed so that he or she has enough time to think about your relationship. Do not pester her or harass her by calling her or leaving tens of text messages in your lover’s inbox. This is because you want to avoid looking desperate and your lover will definitely need some alone time to reflect. Of course, you should not even think about stalking him or her as it will only ruin all your chances of getting back together. You do not want to be labeled as a “freak” or “stalker” now would you? So be careful of what you do or say as anything in excess of that is not recommended.
Next, avoid losing your personality and who you are. Do not get depressed or give up doing the things that you like because of the break up. Now, your lover used to love you because of who you are and what you can do. So by sliding into a state of depression or quitting your job is not going to impress him or her. In this case, you need to plan your strategy well and live your life to the fullest. Get your life back on track, look your best and improve everything about you. By showing your strong and confident side, your lover will come to see what he or she had lost, and will come to want you back again. Show your lover that you are able to move on and leave a good impression of yourself. This is the best way to get him or her to be interested in you once again.
Then, before you ask your lover out on a date, do make sure that it is a well planned one. Prepare what you are going to say and think of how your lover will react. Do not rush into saying sorry and have nothing else in mind to ease the situation. You could probably let him or her know how much you care, and why the two of you should get back together. Avoid sounding too pushy but give your lover the time and space to think about it.
To make a relationship work you have to be yourself. You do not want to sacrifice everything and be in a miserable relationship. So, waste no more time and pick up the techniques that you need to get your lover back immediately!

Free Tips to Make Your Boyfriend Commit

If you are dating an emotionally unavailable man, you are probably wondering if it is at all possible to make him commit to a relationship with you. Emotionally unavailable man is someone who for some reason is dead set on never committing to anybody. While there are men who are outright players, there are also good honest men who have been burned in the past and are gun shy of commitment. Taming a player is one thing. Making an emotionally unavailable man commit is different.
One of my best friends is forty something year old divorced man. He has two great teenage kids, great friends and otherwise fantastic life. He has got everything he needs, great job, lots of money, and a variety of interests and social circles. Since his divorce six years ago he never wanted to commit to anybody. He had always swore he would never get married again.
He was dating on match.com and other internet dating sites, meeting a variety of women, going out on dates, socializing and once in a while taking a woman home after a date. He has had some sporadic short term relationships, but nothing serious.
Recently I ran into him after not seeing him for some time. I remembered talking to my friend a while ago when he told me he had started seeing someone. Naturally, when I bumped into him recently I asked whether he was still seeing the same woman. Guess what, he told me she had moved in and they were planning to get married.
So, what made a man who was a commitment phobic commit to one woman? The answer is easy. She was a special woman. She wasn't like anyone else he had dated before. To understand the psychological profile of a commitment phobic, check out my post Commitment Phobic Man

Free Tips on How to Make Him Crazy in Love With You

If there's a special man in your life and you want to make him crazy in love with you, how exactly do you do that? The answer doesn't involve hanging on his every word or altering your life to accommodate his. The truth is that the old standard advice of playing hard to get does have merit, but it needs a new twist to make it really effective.
If you want to make him crazy in love with you, you have to love yourself first. Men are most drawn to confident women who are in control of their emotions. The biggest mistake that women make when they are trying to get their man to love them more is they make themselves completely available both physically and emotionally to him. They let him know, in no uncertain terms, that they love him and would do anything for him. As much as we women love hearing those words from a man. Men aren't as charmed by them. Men are actually less attracted to you if you are right there in his grasp.
Spend more time with friends if you want to make him crazy in love with you. Make him feel as though he's stealing you away from your life. You want him to feel like the hunter that he is. Make it a little challenging for him and he'll be more drawn in. If you aren't always reachable and available he'll crave you more and more.
Let him talk about himself if you want to make him love you more. If you're too self-centered and keep bringing the conversation back to yourself, he's going to be turned off. Men want to feel valued and appreciated so if you want to make him crazy in love with you, ask him about his life. Ask direct questions and hold his gaze when he's talking. This will help him to see that you are completely interested in what's important to him. If you do this he'll find you irresistible.
Specific things you say and do can make a man feel helplessly drawn to you. If you are convinced he is the one there are things you can do to ensure he only has eyes for you. Somebody Who Understands You

Do you have someone who can feel the pain in your eyes? Do you have someone who can understand the ache of your heart? Do you have someone who can understand your misery? Do you have someone who can understand your helplessness? Do you have someone who can wipe your tears? Do you have someone who will not ask you not to cry, but will give you a shoulder to cry upon? Do you have someone who waits for you? Do you have someone who keeps awake with you? Do you have someone who will talk to people on your behalf? Do you have someone who will feel the pain of your life? Do you have someone who knows that you don't want to live, but are forced to live? Do you have a true companion? Before we proceed further, let us find more about what is living, and why we need someone who understands us? Please view these screensavers - Friendship Connecting with people
I am not talking only about a wife or a husband or a friend or a companion? Anyone it can be. But do you have someone who understands you and who is with you always? If yes, you are a very lucky person. God has given you all the luck you wanted. Because getting a person like what I talked above is very difficult. You will rather find that during your time of hardships, pains and misery, you are alone. No one will understand your actions or motives. They will argue with you. They will suggest you. But they will not be with you. You will have to face your misery all alone and on that day, you will cry for someone who understands you.
You will not get that person. Your beating heart may stop with the pain. People will gather to bury you. But no one will help you live, when you wanted. That time you will probably thank death for getting you away from this world of loneliness.

Its Not Love Without "HIM"

Awe, look at all the lonely people. It saddens me when I hear from and see so many people who are seeking that love of their lives and can't seem to find what they are looking for. Sometimes they are just alone and seeking to be loved, period. Still, either way, it is so very sad and hard to watch and witness. I've been there myself. I know what it is like to really crave the affection of someone real special in my life. It is HARD being single and searching. The thing is, God is in control of all of that and it takes a whole lot of trust to wait on God with all He has in store for us. We are his hands, voice, feet and often heart as well. We are so much more but that would be a whole other article in itself. When seeking out love, we first have to realize that we have to "be" the love we are looking for first. We only attract into our lives what we offer in life. In the same respect we only attract to us what and who we are. So, in order to find and discover the love and relationships we are seeking out, in essense we need to become them. Let me explain a bit further. If someone who is compassionate is what we are seeking, we must learn to be compassionate. We attract who we are and what we project to others. It is almost like a "secret God code" of human existance but not really such a huge secret! If what we are seeking is a Godlike relationship then what we need to become is more like the one we seek. Becoming more like Jesus is a great way to find a love that is as unconditionally accepting and healing as possible. I think He is the best example of love that there is and certainly the best example of healing. Fashioning ourselves like "HIM" is to set ourselves up for a relationship ordained and blessed by Him. Without Him, love is not love. He is the "Master of Love" and in fact, "is love". To "be" love is to allow love to come through every part of our being. It is like it comes through our pours so much it takes over our whole self. We were fashioned and formed very uniquely, and according to the Bible in the image of our Creator. To be in His image is to be also "love". Keeping the mindset that we are love, will attract love to our lives. Extending love in all of the things we do in life will bring more love toward us, naturally without having to seek it out. Life without love is void. Life without God is void. They are one in the same. So, when thinking of any type of relationship with anyone, He is the main facet that makes it work and worth while. If He is the example we set ourselves to follow then amazing blessed love is what we shall have! It is a promise! Our universe was fashioned very carefully by our Creator and there are certain laws that will never be broken. This is one of them! We become and attract that which we are. So, fashion your lives according to the Lord God almighty and you will have a relationship with God that is closer than ever and a relationship with others that are uncompromised! Our greatest mistake in life is to compromise our faith in God and to settle for less than what we deserve in life. It brings a relationship that is not blessed or sanctified by God and it will end in misery. Please seek ye first the ways of God and of heaven and fashion yourselves according to the love of God and you will attract those into your life who will be blessed by the connection with you and you with them! Your union will be such that "all the waters of heaven and earth could never put out the fire that love creates". Love is like an ever lasting fire that can never be put out. When couples choose this kind of love their relationship will be as everlasting as God is everlasting. Please, whatever you do: never invite a relationship into your life if it does not include "HIM". To do so would create an imbalaced relationship headed for disaster. I, personally, have experienced that kind and don't wish to ever do so again. "God is my refuge and my strength and He is my mercy and my grace. He shall forever be my guide, keeping my face directed onward toward the prize for which God Himself has called me heavenward. I will run the race and run it with precision, and when tested in this world, when I line myself up with Jesus and His love: I will win!" Rev Jenine Miana Please make the statement above your own and pray this prayer with me for the everlasting love you have always desired in relationship with God, with yourself and with others. "Dear Heavenly Father, I have recognized that I am created in Your beautiful image. I am amazed by Your love, Your mercy and Your grace. I am amazed by Your capacity to love me no matter what. I thank You with all my heart for the love You have shown me in my life. Please help me to always look to You for the love I need in my life, always. Please also help me to be that love to others in every way I am able to be. Please connect me with all those who equally are like me, so that my relationships will be equally yoked. I trust you with my heart and so I place it in your capable hands to lead me, guide me, and help me attract the love life of a lifetime! I am blessed that You are a personal God and that You care so deeply about my heart. Please help me to always have a love that includes You so that it will be balanced, complete and satisifying to my soul!" Amen and Amen! If you need assistance with your love decisions or want to talk about the not so great decisions you have made and need release, then please call me anytime! I would be happy to talk with you, walk with you and pray for you through your time of decision. Please remember it is not love without HIM! Please also call if you need to know more about Jesus, his life, his love, his teaching and his ways. I would be happy to introduce you to the "HIM" that keeps the eternal flames of love always lit! 707-688-1277

Interracial Dating - Should we only date "our kind"?

Most couples we know start with friendship before becoming couples. Does the same apply for interracial couples?
We all need human company and half the time our aim is to cultivate and build true friendships in order to communicate better. After all, no man is an island. Looking at our multiracial environment today, people meet other people of different races. When it comes to romantic encounters, is it wiser to leave all this to fate, since love comes in many forms these days?
It’s very sad to see an interracial couple being forced to go separate ways because of the pressure that is exerted on them by the the people around them. If you are in an interracial relationship, I am sure you have heard people say "You should stick to your own kind." Some have even dubbed you a “sell-out.”
The above statements are very selfish and limit people’s dating potential and preferences. Clearly, there are many interracial couples that found love successfully. I mean if everyone decided to listen to that noise, would we have been able to have such a multicultural world? Would celebrity model Heidi Klum be with her true love (Seal) and be as happy as she is today?
Love is precious and valuable. So why should interracial couples endure so much extra pressure in order to experience true love? Being with someone of your own race doesn’t guarantee you happiness. Like with any coupling, it is the personality that matters most, the respect and love you share that matters most.
This is not to say that true love can only be found when you date interracially. Some interracial couples endure the same problems that a same race couple would. Racism aside, interracial couples should stay strong and create a brand new world for themselves.
So don’t limit your dating potential just because someone told you to. Don’t let true love pass you by just because society thinks of you as a sell-out. Go forth and create your interracial world. Dig deeper within yourself and trust me, you will be a happier person when love surrounds you.
Who said there is something wrong with interracial dating? What's really important is that you are able to focus your energy on someone whom you love dearly, no matter their race.

Looking For Unconditional Love

Is it possible to find in life a love that holds the test of time? That no matter what happens through experience that this love will continually follow us through all that we do. This love comes firstly from deep within, a self love based on the need to receive all that we wish to desire individually. It is grounded on the knowledge that we are strong individually and do not need to depend on others in order to achieve all that we wish to experience.

That we can step up for the challenge and no matter what obstacles that we must face, we can hold ourselves up with pride at all that we have individually decided to do that derives from our own choices and goals.
When we look to others for love, we base this love most often on what they can do for us and how they can make our lives better. This love does have set conditions and places the other person to have to take responsibility for another. It is not based on true self satisfaction and ability to take responsibility and endeavors to ultimately fail from the impact of pressure that builds up from expectation. No other person can make us happy within ourselves, or can they choose for us a desired future or purpose. They can only be with us through experiences, when they also have a common purpose to achieve.
To love unconditionally means to love from self. To not need from another to achieve purpose in life and to only enjoy company when it is desired and chosen. When two people come together in this love, they do not hold pressure on each other. They instead can be together based on their own choice and enjoyment, without needing the other person to fill a gap of unhappiness that can only be truly achieved through self understanding.
Imagine if life were based on all people being the definition of their own house, a house constructed from personality and emotions, and all the inner reasoning that defines a person's life. Everyone can already see that they cannot give an emotion or personality to another. Their house within might be painted with red showing the love that they have from their choice, but they cannot give to another their walls painted in red, but only tell them through communication how it looks from within. It might inspire another to also paint their walls in red with love, but it is the individual themselves who will have to take their own paint brush and change how they want their house to be, based on their own ideals and needs.
We cannot borrow emotions or expressions, we can only ever choose for them within ourselves. The boundary we have with others exists outside and although we would like them to help us patch the walls of our house inside, they cannot reach, and can only help from looking outside. They might choose to help hold up our house for a time, like a stilt or a truck holding our framework. However there is only so much time that they can focus on us and need to retire for the day to return home inside themselves for rest and recuperation.
Unconditional love between two people bases itself on two strong houses that want to live side by side. They can at times support each other but know ultimately that they need to stand on their own foundations in order to further their path and common goals together. They do not seek to hold each other up but instead to stand together through life with common ideals and purpose. They can love each other even to the point of letting go if it means happiness and choice as the ultimate goal.

30 and Single? Experiences With the Dating Scene Over Thirty

So your thirty and happen to be single? Maybe you have woken up one morning only to realize that you wont to start a family.
This article's purpose is not to provide answers to the problem of dating in your thirties, only to state the difficulties that arise that people past the age of thirty come up against.
Past the age of thirty you generally have your life goals pretty well assessed and a secure job. So the dating game can be a little different compared to when you were younger when burning the wick at both ends every weekend was possible.

Cautious behavior can creep in when trying to date in your thirties. Time is getting on and you don't want to waste another ten years on another failed relationship. You would think that dating as you get older would get easier because you are more stable and self aware. But on the contrary it actually gets increasingly frustrating . Talking to many people that have had the same experiences I come to the conclusion that dating in your thirties does pose its own problems even though you may be better off financially and mentally.
Biologically and Socially you are not really in your prime years for the dating scene with which is more geared towards the younger generation. However there are bars and websites that are geared directly towards your needs. This is great because it puts all the people in the same situation together saving you time and money.
The negative tone to this article should by no means be a deterrent to get out there and find your lover. I have met many thirty and forty year olds saying that the dating scene is alive and well for anyone over thirty. Your only as old as you feel and should not let your age deter you from great dating experiences. Just remember that there are difficulties associated with this age group that have put some people off dating as they grow older.

Opposites Attract

It's why the "good" girl always wants the "bad" boy in every 80s movie ever made. But for lasting and fulfilling love, try to find someone with whom you have more in common than a passionate spark that will fizzle fast.
We've all heard the line about opposites attracting, and we all know couples who are as different from each other as night and day. You know the scenario - she's a librarian, he's a Harley-riding tattoo artist; he likes to "veg" in front of the TV every night, she likes to go dancing three nights a week; she's well-educated, he's a high-school dropout.

While passion may fuel short-term romance between polar opposites, if you're looking for a life mate, you'll have more success with someone whose lifestyle and aspirations more closely match your own. There are couples out there that you would never have guessed would be happy together, who seem like total opposites, but their differences are typically surface differences, like height. Other differences can work, but it takes effort, patience, and understanding.
There is something, though, about having very similar core values that makes a relationship successful and strong. Christian singles that tend to have the most long-term success share the same set of core values, with the same religious or spiritual core that includes a healthy respect for each other. Long-term success is also more easily sustained when the two people have a similar level of intelligence or education. That doesn't mean PhDs should only date PhDs...it means that there should be an intellectual connection in which both parties feel fairly equal.
Other areas where similar core values seem to be important are physical activity level, finances, and the desire for children. Couples are more successful if both of them like to get out and go dancing three times a week than if half of the couple wants to go while the other half would prefer to watch TV every night. A shared passion for some activity (rock climbing, charity work) can also bind people together more closely. While two people don't have to come from the same financial background to have a successful relationship, their attitude about money, saving and spending, and earning habits should be similar. Kids - or not wanting them - can be a major deal breaker. There is no right or wrong, but if you're not both on the same page about wanting to raise a family, you will most likely face some major struggles.

Finding a Meaningful Relationship - 4 Simple Tips For Looking in the Right Places

Many people are looking for meaningful relationships. Good relationships can lengthen your life span, impact your health, and bring great satisfaction and joy to your life. But sometimes it can be tough to figure out where to look.
When you are looking for a meaningful relationship the key is to start looking in the right places. Here are some tips:
1. Look in places where you are likely to find people who share your beliefs about what is important.
For example, if it is important that the person share your religious beliefs, you would most likely find them at church. If you value education, you'd find them in educational settings, lectures, alumni groups, libraries, or other places where educated people go. If you value family activities, you may meet other single parents at sporting events school functions and so on.
Be aware that you are most likely not going to meet a Mr. or Ms. Right in a nightclub or bar. What you're likely to find there is a drinking buddy.
2. Let your friends and relatives introduce you to people they know.
Let those close to you know what you are looking for: what qualities, what values and what type of relationship you want.
3. Put yourself in positions where you can meet people who share your interests.
For example, join travel clubs, dance clubs, photography clubs, cycling groups, singles clubs through churches, or take non-credit classes on topics that interest you. If you are new to an area, join the Newcomer's Club. Volunteer to help with a cause you believe in. You may not meet the person of your dreams immediately, but you'll be establishing some connections with others of like mind.
4. Open yourself to meeting lots of new people.
The key is to have an attitude of openness to meeting new people. Your attitude is one of the most important factors.
Don't go "on the hunt" for that special relationship. Desperation isn't very appealing. Go with the intention of meeting and getting to know lots of new people.
Finding a significant relationship is just like meeting any new friend. You won't fit with everyone. Recognize that just as in any kind of networking, the person you are looking for just may not be in this group. But someone in the group may know the person you are looking for.
Talk to people, get to know them, and be open to meeting new friends. You may need to meet a lot of people before you find the person of your dreams. That's O.K. Don't get discouraged! Just keep meeting people. After all, really meaningful relationships are worth waiting for.
